I just had my first gyn appointment since being on the Wiley Protocol. The last time I went to her (several years ago), I had an irregular heartbeat (she checks more than just the Pap, etc), and Dr. Chen had also noted the irregular heart beat several times, but it seems it's now gone. She listened three times to be positive, but she says it's no longer there. She also found my thyroid "perfect", my lungs clear, etc, and during my pelvic exam, she said I was pink, moist, and she highly doubted anything will come back negative on the pap or std labs. She said in fact, that I appeared "radiant" and perfectly healthy. Ah, lovely music to my ears. I had taken a couple of newsletters with me and my WP, but she didn't want to see it, said she knew all about it. Said it was fine if I liked it and certainly I seemed to be glowing, but she personally would not recommend it because she felt it was "unnecessarily complicated" - I didn't say anything back, but I'm sure she meant the cycling of the hormones, but it makes sense to me - your body cycles them, why wouldn't you want to match that as closely as one can when replacing them... but at least she didn't give me any argument about it (not that it would have mattered) and admitted that I seemed really healthy. I forgot to ask her if she did ultrasound in her office - that was one of the things Dr. Chen wanted me to do, but I forgot about it - even if I could have afforded it, which I cannot right now. My gyn said she wouldn't need to see me for a year... Oh, since my height was still exactly 5'2" and my spine straight, she also said, that though it wasn't a bone density test, she felt my bones were probably all right as well. That's not scientific, but she said she could see no curvature. Well, at some point I will get another bone density test. When I began the WP, I had just begun to show the first, very marginal signs on an ankle test of moving out of the green into borderline territory, but just...

I feel it's significant that the irregular heartbeat appeared during menopause and appears to be gone now. Anyway, made my day : ) Tells me WP works - but then I knew that! : )
