Traumatizing Your DNA: Researcher Warns That It Isn't 'All in the Genes' When the Human Genome Project ended a decade ago, scientists thought that they'd closed the lid on all that's to be known about our genes. But what they really did was open a Pandora's Box, says theoretical evolutionary biologist Prof. Eva Jablonka of Tel Aviv University's Cohn Institute for the History and Philosophy of Science and Ideas.
After sifting through hundreds of scientific studies concerned with epigenetics, Prof. Jablonka concludes that some of the effects of stress, cancer, and other chronic diseases we suffer from may be passed on to our offspring through deep and complicated underlying cellular mechanisms that we are just now beginning to understand.
Prof. Jablonka will discuss her findings at an epigenetics conference in North Carolina later this month.
The invisible threat Epigenetic research suggests that the effects of stress and environmental pollution can be passed on to future generations without any obvious change or mutation in our DNA. The problem, Prof. Jablonka points out, is that we have no idea of the extent these effects will have on the human genome of the future...
Lipitor Tied To Diabetes Risk, More Evidence Shows People on a high-dose regimen of the cholesterol drug Lipitor may have a slightly increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes -- particularly if they have several of the classic diabetes risk factors, a study published Monday finds.
A number of studies have linked Lipitor (known generically as atorvastatin) and other cholesterol-lowering statin drugs to a small increase in users' risk of diabetes.
This latest study, based on data from three large clinical trials, strengthens evidence of a connection.
But it also suggests that the risk may largely exist among people who also have the well-known risk factors for type 2 diabetes -- including excess weight, high blood sugar, elevated triglycerides (a type of blood fat) and high blood pressure.
Those four factors appear "very good at distinguishing people at high or low risk for developing new-onset diabetes with atorvastatin," lead researcher Dr. David D. Waters, of the University of California at San Francisco, told Reuters Health in an email.
So managing those risk factors -- by shedding excess pounds, for example -- would be important for curbing any extra diabetes risk, Waters said.
He also stressed that the diabetes risk tied to statins is small...
Can Turmeric Slow Down the Spread of Breast Cancer? What drives the spread of Breast Cancer?
Recent studies from the University of California, San Diego, published in the British Journal, NATURE, have discovered a molecule called RANKL, found in aggressive breast cancer cells that predicts more deadly, lethal and life threatening disease. The findings from these recent studies suggests that drugs that block RANKL may be effective in preventing both the early stages of breast cancer and the advanced progression of the disease. Research has also shown that Curcumin, the active ingredient in the common spice, Turmeric, has properties that also reduce the expression of these deadly molecules within cancer cells and can potentially slow the spread of breast cancer.
Breast Cancer is not one disease. There are actually many breast cancers. When a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer, the tumor cells in her body must be analyzed in order to understand the nature of her unique disease. Some cancer cells are more aggressive and fast growing. Some cancer cells are sleepy, slow growing and less dangerous...
Update On The Wiley Protocol to be in First Research Study on Bio-identical Hormone Therapy (BHT) at the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, the University of Texas at Tyler The Wiley Protocol® and its multi-phasic physiologic dosing will be part of a new study called Bioidentical Hormones On Trial, or B.H.O.T., a comparison of patterns of administration and dosing of compounded bio-identical hormone therapy (BHT). This study will be the first of its kind to track and quantify outcomes based on dosing and patterns of administration of BHT. The principal objective of the study will be to examine clinical outcomes and quality of life indicators of patients receiving BHT at 10 to 12 primary care provider's practices.
Currently an accepted standard for compounded bio-identical hormone replacement protocol or therapy does not exist. The results of the study will be used to help establish which dosage and pattern of BHT administration is most effective. Results will be used to design a prospective, randomized clinical trial with the goal of standardizing BHT dosing and administration patterns.
The principal Investigator for the study is Assistant Professor Janith Williams, DNP, WHNP, RNC, and the co principal investigator is Julie Taguchi, MD, physician and research coordinator at Sansum Clinic Santa Barbara, California.
The study is an observational, prospective study of women ages 35 to 60 who are current users of compounded bioidentical hormone therapy (BHT). Clinical care of study participants will not be changed as a result of study participation. The duration of the study is three years. Outcomes to be monitored include quality of life, symptom relief, and impact of BHT on physical health including breast, endometrial, and cardiovascular measures...

Wiley Protocol For Your Face - Lipogenerative Creme can turn back the clock…
Remember the full face of youth? That plump fullness meant smooth, glowing skin, that reflected the light and was velvety to the touch. What if you could rebuild beauty from your hormones up and recover that? The Wiley Protocol for Your Face is a crème that can provide this option by replenishing the fat base just below the skin which plumps up and smooth's the crepe-y fine lines that make us look old. As you age, you lose collagen in lock-step with diminishing levels of estrogen. Since there are estrogen receptors everywhere in your body, especially in the skin. Dermatologists have long noted that systemic hormone therapy seems to improve the appearance of aging skin all by itself. Studies have shown that estrogen, when applied in a cream can penetrate the skin because of its small molecular size. Estrogen is documented to increase the production of collagen, giving skin thickness and resiliency . This crème is non-greasy and absorbs quickly.

Kathy H. Part 1

I've been a protocol user for over three years this month. I have no menopause effects, I feel no different than I did over two decades ago, and at age 51 everyone thinks I look maybe 33. I still get carded for alcohol, and I credit keeping good hormone levels as one of the main things I do for good health. I can do gym workouts that are more intense than what I was doing in the 1980's, and my libido just rocks. I started my hormones at age 38 with progesterone only with internet information along with DHEA & melatonin, and I am so glad I did. Sure, I could not find an MD to assist me for many years, and I believe it's really wrong we end up on our own like this, and somehow paying attention to my symptoms I got it right just the same... When I began having menopausal symptoms all my menopausal girlfriends could tell me was "wait until it gets really bad and then hope your husband can live with you"! I couldn't bear the thought of that. I began my research into BHRT. My relief was not instantaneous because I did not start with Wiley Protocol, however, once WP was recommended to me AND I found the right Doctor, Dr. Dominique Fradin-Read in Santa Monica CA, I found balance and feel amazing. I have energy, no hot flashes, sleep soundly through the night and maintain my weight, all things friends my age can not seem to accomplish. I run my own company so life is hectic and stressful but the Wiley Protocol keeps me centered and balanced. I especially like the rhythmic dosing because it keeps me aware and helps me track just how I feel on each day of the month. This then helps me communicate better with Dr. Read who can fine tune and make changes to my prescription when necessary as I have found that over time I change as changes occur in my life. I have been on WP for four years now and wouldn't be without it... Read More...

Wiley Protocol Experts Answer Your Question :
|
|
|
Q: We are constantly bombarded with information about how polluted our environment has become. It's very easy to start to worry about everything we ingest as a potential toxin, wrecking havoc on our endocrine systems and ultimately our lives. What do you think are the most dangerous environmental pollutants facing mankind today?
|
A: Artificial light cycles and wireless energy are the most devastating environmental pollutants man has created for potential long-term evolutionary changes of any great magnitude. The aberrant chemicals do alter sex hormone patterns in a generation or two at a time, but the changes we've instituted in ambient energy levels and cycles with wireless and artificial light warrant an extinction level event.

Lights Out
This fascinating, thought-provoking study discusses the central role of sleep in our lives. After probing the scientific literature, T.S. Wiley and Formby, researchers at the Sansum Medical Research Institute, conclude that, "the disastrous slide in the health of the American people corresponds to the increase in light-generating night activities and the carbohydrate consumption that follows.

F.Y.I... We have been told that there are many pharmacies around the country claiming to make the Wiley Protocol. Unless your hormones come in our color coded packaging (green and purple for women, blue and burgundy for men), it says Wiley all over and the pharmacy has our sign in their window, they have not registered with us to make the authentic Wiley Protocol. You would be getting a generic product that will not stand up to federal scrutiny for scientific study. Please make sure your provider abides by our trademarks and sends your prescription to a Wiley Registered Pharmacy.
