My illness began in the spring of 2001 on return from a trip to Mexico. It was the first time in my life I had been seriously ill. My symptoms were diarrhea, vomiting, bloating and gas. These symptoms continued every four to six months until June of 2003 when my doctors performed a colonoscopy procedure, and then operated on me doing a complete hysterectomy, an appendectomy and removing a non-malignant tumor from my abdomen within 24 hours.
